FOR TODAY...Tuesday, March 30, 2010

Outside my window...wet and rainy but it's not snow! The weather this spring has certainly been atypical but I'm really enjoying the warmer weather.

I am thinking...that I'm not sure I'm ready for this vegan thing! But I am ready to be healthy. I'm committing to trying it for 30 days but I'm certainly not going to beat myself up if I make mistakes. April 1st...and since I'm making it public - I'll have to do it!

I am thankful for...my silly, silly boys. B13 prayed this morning during our "popcorn prayer" before starting school. He thanked God for making "him awesome." He meant himself. I don't think he has many self-esteem issues. At least not today.

From the learning rooms...tweaking things. Adding things. Trying to make things a bit fun. We'll see if I manage it. Looking ahead to next year as well. I've ordered the science for the younger boys (all on great sale this week!). Just taking it one step at a time.

From the kitchen...really need to work on my vegan menu for myself since I'll be shopping tomorrow. I also really need to make banana bread and pumpkin bread for hubby's breakfasts. The poor man has been without for about a month.

I am wearing... really - do I need to type it out? I have "the uniform" on except I'm wearing a short-sleeved t-shirt.

I am creating...not much at the moment. I do have a free credit at HotPrints so I want to get a book made there. Better work on that today. I've been pretty happy with the ones I've ordered so far. And free is wonderful! I'm also making "tabs" at the top of the blog. See them? Still thinking up more to add.

I am going...to keep getting used to our new bed. My hubby's grandparents bought a "captain's bed" with under-bed drawers about a month ago. They decided it was too tall for them. His grandmother (89 years old) was having a hard time climbing in. It was gifted to us. His grandparents only had a mattress on the frame. We have a box spring plus a mattress. I kid you not - the top of the mattress is at least three feet off the ground. I'm only 5'2" tall! Yes, I now have to literally jump in to bed at night!

I am reading...my Bible, my Prentiss Bible study, and my newest blog book - not sure if I like it yet or not.

I am hoping...I can make the vegan/vegetarian diet work for me. I'm not doing this for convictions. My only food "conviction" is lamb and veal - neither of which I will eat. Baby animals! I'm making this switch to get healthy.

I am hearing...YouTube videos playing for background music. This one is an absolute favorite. The boys were playing a board game but started to argue. They are going off to their room for quiet time now - even better!

Around the house...trying to get things decluttered. I'm currently going through books. I'm hosting a used book/curriculum sale at my church in just about a week and a half. I have almost one box full. I know I have a ton more though! Hubby is adding to his water heating system. He's creating a solar heater now so that we'll still be able to use the system once the wood stove isn't being used any longer.

One of my favorite things...quiet nights. Time to blog. Time to think. I have a hard time sleeping so I tend to stay up too late at night. Working on that too.

A few plans for the rest of the week: pulling together plans for N8's birthday. He turns 9 a week from today. His birthday always sneaks up on me since it's near the first of the month. AWANA and Bible study as well this week. We also have Easter services at church. We'll be trying out the Easter sunrise service and breakfast plus we've also started going to Sunday School - well at least hubby & the boys have. I'm typically at worship team practice during that time.  I haven't been to a sunrise service since I was a little girl. I remember going in my snowsuit since it was so cold!! Not this year!

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...
Miss Snowball out for a "walk." The leash is just so she doesn't hop away. She goes pretty much wherever she wants to and B13 tags along behind trying to keep up. She loves this though. So cute and fluffy and in desperate need of a trim. It's on my "to do" list - just not at the top.

  1. So enjoyed stopping by your blog this afternoon and I do love that bunny. And, best of luck with the "vegan thing." Celebrate Easter as we rejoice in the fact that He AROSE!

Oh thank goodness! I'm not here all alone. Thanks for leaving me a comment. It helps that I'm not always talking to myself. Right? Hello?
