FOR TODAY...Thursday, April 8, 2010
(I can't believe it's taken me this long to put this post up this week. It has been crazy busy here!)
Outside my window...overcast and dreary. I'm missing the nice warm and sunny weather we had all last week. It will come again soon though. The warmer temps are nice though.
I am thinking...I need to start looking at what I'm committed to doing and start cutting back. This week has been nuts. There is always a good reason for everything I do but still....I'm suppose to be a SAHM and that "stay-at-home" part has been sorely lacking this week.
I am thankful for...my children. They are driving me absolutely bonkers lately but I am truly thankful for them.
From the learning rooms...we are light on learning this week. Tuesday was N9's birthday so we took that day off (from school anyway). We had co-op yesterday and I'm simply too burned out right now to think about school today or tomorrow. I'm using the extra time to organized and declutter and get books pulled to sell on Saturday. (Used book/curriculum sale at Crossroads for anyone local!)
From the kitchen...I managed to make a double batch of chocolate chip banana nut bread earlier in the week. Three loaves were sliced and frozen and will be added to hubby's lunch each day. He has that as breakfast while he drives to work. I also made six big blueberry muffins. Yum...
I am wearing..."the uniform."
I am creating...organization out of chaos. At least I hope so. I have one large box of mostly curriculum stuff sitting here to go out plus two smaller boxes of reading books to go. I have another pile sitting beside me that I need sort through and price. Guess what I'll be doing tomorrow too?
I am going...to try to slow down.
I am reading...I just finished one book tour book - it ended better than it started. I'll post that review next week. I just started a new one. I love free books.
I am hoping...that there are LOTS of people coming to the book sale on Saturday to buy! I need to earn money to get the rest of our school books for the fall! ;-)
I am hearing...J6 playing golf on the Wii.
Around the house...working on that decluttering thing. The end of the hall by the linen closet looks much better...one bag of trash and one bag of clothes to give away later. I still have more to tackle though.
One of my favorite things...Easter chocolate on clearance. I picked up a whole bag of it yesterday and tossed it in the freezer.
A few plans for the rest of the week: well, seeing as my week is almost over, here's a recap...
Monday: home and school was done during the day. Met hubby at Wally World after dropping B13 at youth group. N9 picked out a new bike for his birthday.
Tuesday: Day off from school to celebrate N9's birthday. Drove an hour south to catch a matinée of "How to Train Your Dragon" (closest theater who had mid-week matinées). Drove home and spent about 30 minutes before heading back out for J6's first baseball practice. What a riot.
Then home for about another 30 minutes before heading out to a homeschooling meeting. We're working on planning out the rest of this year and looking at what we want to do next year with our co-op that has sprung up. When I got home from that - around 9pm - I still had to prepare for the photography class I've been teaching monthly to homeschooled kids. Long night.
Wednesday: Homeschool co-op. This is also MOPS day at our church and I was asked to photograph all the moms with their kids for mother's day gifts. I did that first. Then I taught my photography class. Then I joined in with co-op. The kids learned about Kenya and had a blast. After that we did groceries. We were home for about an hour before heading back out for N9's baseball practice. 'Tis the season!
Thursday: Today I spent about an hour this morning helping to sort all the pottery the kids and the rest of the homeschooling group created at a class last month. It was a like a big puzzle as most was not marked. Kind of crazy. We're home until about 3:30 and then we head back out for...wait for it...baseball practice! This time for J6. Then we'll be off to AWANA as soon as he is done.
Friday: Nothing but Bible study in the evening. Yeah!
Saturday: Hosting a used book/curriculum sale at church and in the afternoon we have our first 4-H meeting to figure out what to do for the rest of the year. Yes, it's just starting.
Anyone else tired yet?
Here is picture for thought I am sharing...
J6 and Odie
Hi! Loved reading your daybook post today. Hope things slow down for you soon. Of course, listen to who's talking! As moms life doesn't slow down much for us, does it?
ReplyDeleteSage made that sam dog for her birthday! Man, your getting to be as busy as me! I thought I was crazy. How does J6 seem to like baseball?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great smile! Love the picture!
ReplyDeleteawwww what a cute picture.
ReplyDeleteI hear you about cutting back. I stepped down from two things in the last month and two more things are on the chopping block for this month... I just can't keep the pace I used to keep in my younger days (LOL).
