My Daybook

FOR TODAY (January 19, 2009)...

Outside my window...
night has fallen. Another day is ending. The kiddos will be going to bed soon & I'll be able to cuddle on the couch & watch an episode of 24 with my hubby. I love our DVR.

I am thinking...
about tomorrow. My sister has a birthday. Our nation gets a new President.

I am thankful for...
my hubby. He has a stable job. He works hard. He puts in long days with a long commute and lots of pressure at work. He takes care of us well.

From the learning rooms...
nothing today - too many errands to get done on a free day off (no babies today).

From the kitchen...
for supper I made BBQ chicken, steamed broccoli, & homemade biscuits. Yummy!

I am wearing...
old faded jeans with a sweatshirt. It's nice to have the weather above subzero temps. My need for layers diminishes greatly.

I am creating...
nothing much right now but I am finally tacking the blanket my sister sewed for my last Christmas (2007!) because I really need to wash it. ;-)

I am going...
to be putting my boys to bed SOON & then enjoying some time with my hubby.

I am reading...
The Heirs of Montana series by Tracie Peterson. I'm on Book #3 To Dream Anew. I'm really enjoying the books. I have a TBR list (to be read) in my side bar. If you have a suggestion for a book, please leave. Thanks!

I am hoping...
the next four years in our country are prosperous.

I am hearing...
Go Diego! Go! on the TV. The boys are having a bit of TV time before bed.

Around the house...
I was pretty productive today but I still have some laundry to take care of.

One of my favorite things...
being home with my family - just hanging out together.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
not a really busy week. No plans to go all that far. My FIL has a big birthday on Saturday & we'll all just "happen" to be home for the weekend to celebrate with him.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

I clean my hubby's grandmother's house weekly. They feed the birds so there are always some hanging about. I like to try to grab pics when I can. When I got there today there was a woodpecker at the suet feeder. Then I heard some jays calling. I saw 4-5 of them hanging out in the branches. I snapped this photo using my zoom on my little point & shoot digital camera and then my batteries died. This was the best I could get. It was fun watching them for a bit though.

  1. Awesome Pic!
I am so happy the temps have come up for you. I heard they are really cold lately.
Can you believe in a week it is going to be February?

  2. For some reason when I try to take a picture of the birds they all move or leave. It's frustrating!

Oh thank goodness! I'm not here all alone. Thanks for leaving me a comment. It helps that I'm not always talking to myself. Right? Hello?
