Weight Loss

Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans

I've always hesitated to say too much about this here, but you know, the time has come. I need to put it out there for the accountability aspect of it all.

A while ago I read about a new book out there that sounded different than everything else. It was on Choosing Joy (scroll down to read De'Etta's review) that I first read about the book called Never Say Diet by Chantel Hobbs.

What's different? It's about a "brain change." That's what I need. I bought the book and the companion guide. It's excellent so far. It's an easy read. And the best part, IMHO, is that the author lived this. She's not another trainer, skinny person writing a book about weight loss. She lost 200 pounds following these steps and kept it off. She knows what she's doing.

I have plenty of education as to what I need to do. Loosing weight really isn't all that tough. It's the implementation of it that's hard. All one needs to do is eat less calories while burning more. Sounds easy enough right? I just wish it were that easy.

So while the scale continues to show a slight gain this week, I'm ready. I'm working on Phase 1 of the book which is exercising five days in a row for 30 minutes and breaking a sweat. I was already doing the other part of Phase 1 which was eating breakfast every day. I'm just tweaking it to be a more healthy combination of carbs and proteins.

Having said all this...I need to go exercise. I had MOPS this AM  & overslept so I need to get in my 30 minutes before it's time to leave the house again. I'll continue to share ideas and things I find along the journey.

  5. I've enjoyed that book. I keep waiting to bump up to phase 2, but I've had a hard time making it through 4 entire weeks of not missing a day even when "life" happens..... so I guess I need to stay in phase 1... sigh...

Oh thank goodness! I'm not here all alone. Thanks for leaving me a comment. It helps that I'm not always talking to myself. Right? Hello?
