Vacation Teaser

My family just returned from our annual family vacation to the northern reaches of Moosehead Lake. My in-laws own a camp there & for the last three years (or is it four?), we have gone there for our family vacation. I'm really not much of a camper/outdoors girl. I love my 21st century conveniences, but I'm married to a man who loves everything to do with the outdoors & we parent three boys who are pretty fond of it as well. So I go.

We left Saturday mid-morning, arrived at camp very late (about 8pm) considering we weren't all that far away, and stayed until late yesterday. We arrived home about 8pm last night.

My washer & dryer have been going overtime catching up on all the laundry. I'm loving having all the modern conveniences again. You know things like a flush toilet, electricity, and running water. Minor things...

So I'm playing catch-up. I took 150 photos in those four days. I just finished orgnaizing them. To tide you all over until I can get them edited and all that good stuff - here are two of my favorites.

Will you believe me when I tell you my hubby took this self-portrait of the two of us? Honest. He did!

I took 30 photos of the hummingbirds. This was about photo #29.

  1. Sounds like a great getaway, except for no flush toilets! The things we do for love. ;0) Cute pic of you and hubby.

  5. Great picture! My husband claims he likes to rough it, but I don't believe him. LOL, so far we haven't done this together, opting for cabins instead. That lake sounds beautiful though...I've camped out before when I was a child, and it was fun. I especially liked the dark, dark night skies - great for star watching with no city lights.

  6. Love the teaser pictures. We've been gone too...and I took almost 500 pictures in 10 days...OUCH! Since I shoot in RAW, it takes twice as long to process them, so I'm still working on them (we got back Wednesday, but Scott worked on our video all day yesterday).

Oh thank goodness! I'm not here all alone. Thanks for leaving me a comment. It helps that I'm not always talking to myself. Right? Hello?
