Review: Seasons of Faith Book Series

New Illustrated Book Series - Seasons of Faith

One of the recent products that members of the TOS Homeschool Crew were given to review was a series of books - Seasons of Faith - by CBH Ministries. CBH Ministries puts out some popular products including Keys for Kids devotionals and Down Gilead Lane radio shows.

In fact, the books in the series are based on Children's Bible Hour radio shows. "Uncle Charlie" is a familiar voice to us here at the Berry Patch as we've heard this programming before on the children's station we used to be able to listen to. I love the stories as they are fun to listen to but always have a wonderful lesson for the children to learn. CBH Ministries even has some free discussion questions to go along with the books.

The box of four books arrived here minutes before we were heading out the door to run some errands. So I, of course, brought them along with me for the ride. I had N8 & J6 with me for the ride. They loved the stories. N8 especially liked being able to follow along in the book while we played the accompanying CD of the story.

Race With Midnight (Spring)Race with Midnight ($10) is the "spring" story and shares the story of a girl who is visiting relatives and wants to figure out how to share the gospel with them.

The "summer" book is titled You Can't Come In ($10) and presents the salvation message with a wonderful object lesson that would most likely make sense to many children.

Race With Midnight (Spring) The book for "fall" explains all about forgiveness and how one should really go about it based on what the Bible says. It's called Seventy Times Seven ($10).

Lastly, Braving the Storm ($10) is the "winter" book. This explores how we should look to God for strength in the hard times.

Each book also comes with an audio CD. It has "Uncle Charlie" reading the story book so that early readers can easily follow along with the story and see the wonderful illustrations included. Each CD and book also ends with how to ask God in to your heart.

Taken from the back of one of the books:
The Seasons of Faith illustrated books encourages children to learn about their faith in God. Based on CBH Ministries' treasure trove of radio scripts, these stories teach core truths of the Bible so that kids can easily apply them to their lives. Each book focuses on a season of faith-development.

I think CBH Ministry did a wonderful job creating the books and CDs. They are new favorites in our house. Be sure to head over to the TOS Homeschool Crew blog to read more reviews of the books.

CBH Ministries is extending free standard shipping to anyone who places an order of the Seasons of Faith books between March 17th and April 15th of 2010. Just use code FREESHIPAPR15 to take advantage of this offer.

Oh thank goodness! I'm not here all alone. Thanks for leaving me a comment. It helps that I'm not always talking to myself. Right? Hello?
