Let it Begin!

Giveaway #1!

Join me in celebrating my blog this week. This is post 1,012. Although, I have not received this milestone very fast, more of a snail's pace actually, I thought it worthy enough to celebrate with some fun Maine-themed giveaways.

Today? Well, today a lucky winner will receive one dozen homemade whoopie pies. I don't make this offer lightly as they are not something I enjoy making as I feel they are very time consuming. However, in the interest of celebration - I'll do it.

Oh, what is a whoopie pie?

Ever seen an Oreo Cakester? That's pretty much the same thing. This link has a good history of the whoopie pie along with some recipes. I'll be using my mom's tried and true recipe.

How to enter:
  1. Leave a comment telling me what your favorite good is - mandatory.
  2. Leave a second comment to tell me if you are already a follower or become one.
  3. If you have ever had a whoopie pie, what is your favorite flavor?
  4. Blog about my week of giveaways with a link back here and leave a comment telling me about it. Be sure to include the link to your post.
Make sure you come back each day this week. I have something to giveaway each and every day!

Due to cost of shipping - the giveaway is only open to US mailing addresses. Thanks!

PS: I will be working on a button for the giveaway today. I didn't have time over the weekend. Feel free to add it or check back for it later.

  4. Yummy...love whoopie pies, but I agree, not the most fun to make.

My favorite goodie...the list of things I don't like would be shorter...I guess given a choice, I would pick ice cream.

  8. Congratulations on your 1000th post...you are waaay ahead of me:-)

I've never tried whoopie pies, but I have a feeling that even if I win I still won't get to try one (my kids will yum them all up!). My favorite goody would have to be a gooey homemade brownie with pecans and chocolate ice cream melting on top...and don't forget the hot fudge.

  9. I think you meant favorite food. If so, cookies. Homemade chocolate chip cookies, but not hot out of the oven like normal people; I like mine cooled.

Favorite flavor? I guess original, but I like the ones that my mother would make when I was a kid, but I think she put real butter in the filling, and butter makes everything better!

    Yes, I'm a subscriber. :)

  10. Favorite Food - No bake choco cookies? or Rice Crispie bars? I think it is more child hood nestalgic than taste. :)

  11. 1. Oh, anything from Maine, of course...Whoopie Pies, Labadie Bakery Bismarck donuts, my mom's chicken stew and ployes (okay, not a "goodie" but GOOD!)

    2. I don't "follow" on blogs, but I do have you on my RSS feed, does that count???

    3. I think the traditional flavor is best, but if you have to muddy it up, good old chocolate with peanut butter cream would be my next choice!!!

    4. uh...if I can remember to blog, I will!!!

  14. Yummy! Congratulations on such an amazing milestone!
I have had a pumpkin whoopie pie, but not a chocolate one. I think sending to Hawaii is a bit much though. :)

Oh thank goodness! I'm not here all alone. Thanks for leaving me a comment. It helps that I'm not always talking to myself. Right? Hello?
