My hubby had the day off from work on Friday. We ended up spending the day together. He is doing some work for a friend of ours so we headed over to their property. Their property is located on a lake in Wayne called Androscoggin Lake. It was beautiful!
While the men talked business, us ladies and kiddos spent some time hanging out on their boat. A mamma loon and her two babies were hanging around near the shore. The kids had a great time catching some bugs too.
Once the guys were all done talking, we all headed out on the lake on their boat. It was an unexpected blessing! It was a gorgeous day and the sites were amazing. The sky was so clear. We even headed over to see a golden eagle's nest! We even spotted a bald eagle flying over the lake as well.
The golden eagle was heading to its nest (just to the right in the photo). Two smaller birds started harassing it. It managed to actually catch one but either let it go or it managed to get away.

After we spent the morning on the water we headed in to the city and did some shopping and had lunch together. It was a great way to spend the day.
We ended the day watching fireworks. The town we live in shoots them off a ski mountain. If you set up chairs on Main Street, you can sit and watch the show. We stopped and picked up pizza, set up our chairs, and enjoyed a picnic dinner before the show.
It was a great start to the holiday weekend.
