Homeschool Memoirs - My Favorite Things

This week's theme (although a day late) is pretty easy...."This week I want to invite you to share a few of your favourite things - er - sites." Be sure to click HERE to see what other homeschooling moms are using & loving.

Magazines/Carnivals - in print or online

  • The Old Schoolhouse Magazine I love all the ads (I know many do not). It's like a mini-convention in my mailbox every time an issue arrives. In fact, I just signed up again for a two year print subscription, but they have also now gone digital. If you click HERE, you can even download the Summer '07 digital issue for free so you can check it out.

Freebie sites - any sites that offer freebies or often have giveaways

  • Homeschool Freebie of the Day The trick to this site is REMEMBERING to go check it every day! ;-) They offer Friday's Freebie all weekend. However, if you miss a day, you will miss the freebie. Some are cheesy but most are pretty good. You can sign up for a reminder e-mail that they send out on Monday with a list of all the freebies coming up for that week.
  • Homeschool Helper This site has lots of free unit studies and lapbooks and way more.
  • Homeschool Share Go - just go. This site is awesome. There are literally HUNDREDS of free lapbooks and unit studies. It is a treasure trove. Don't miss it.
  • Bible Coloring Book Pages I like to have things to keep my boys busy while reading. I use these a lot. DLTK is a good site all around too - check out the other things they offer.

Organizing/crafts - sites that you look to for organizing tips or crafts

  • Art Projects for Kids (blog) Some of the projects on here are a bit too time consuming for me. The one just up is making a "painting" out of clay that requires glazing and firing it in a kiln. That won't happen around here. But there are some really fun & neat projects on there as well.
  • No Time for Flash Cards (blog) EXCELLENT for the preschool crowd and a bit older. Hands on stuff. I can't recommend this one enough. Love it.
  • Hearts & Trees (blog) If you love using Charlotte Mason style handicrafts, notebooking, & lapbooking you HAVE to check out this blog. She even sells seasonal craft kits and she is currently taking orders for her fall kit. Click on the link above & you can find more info there.
  • Kids Craft Weekly (weekly e-mail) A really fun e-mail that shows up weekly full of kid-friendly crafts. There are some for the younger crowd as well as older kids. Highly recommend this one. You can click on the link above to go to her site to sign-up.

Bible-focused - sites mainly about God’s Word

  • LifeChurch My brother sent me this link. Clicking on the name will take you directly to a four-part video series on death. It's very well done. They have other series as well so search around the site.
  • Like Beth Moore? Click HERE to watch some video messages and teaching she has done. You can check out more at the same site.

Oh thank goodness! I'm not here all alone. Thanks for leaving me a comment. It helps that I'm not always talking to myself. Right? Hello?
