My Daybook

FOR TODAY (March 30, 2009)...

Outside my window...
the rain has stopped. Spring rains began yesterday. I even heard some rumbles of thunder last night before going to bed. We still have large snowbanks but they are slowly being whittled down.

I am thinking...
I need to start setting some priorities & sticking with them. Changes to my life need to be made. Nothing drastic just things that God has been working on my heart about for a long time.

I am thankful for...
so many wonderful & amazing friends - both IRL (in real life) & on-line. I had a rough day at church yesterday missing my mom & a friend scooted over & just held me while the special music was sung. An amazing song that just made me cry. Thanks, Amy.

From the learning rooms...
an unschooling day. (see next post) The boys are feeling under the weather so I didn't make them do "table school." So far today they have spent time reading, watching a DVR'd program on "The Presidents," hauling wood (just the two younger ones), painting with sponge letters, and reading some more.

From the kitchen...
nothing right now. Although I should figure out something fast for dinner. I have class tonight & then grocery shopping so it may be a "fend-for-yourself" night around here.

I am wearing...
funky, fuzzy, blue socks with my winter crocs, faded blue jeans, white MOPS T-shirt, & Grandma's cardigan. Comfy clothes today.

I am creating...
a photo contest. Did you check it out? Spring Where You Are

I am going...
to start spring-cleaning & declutter the trailer. Time to start letting go of all the junk around here.

I am reading...
The Hiding Place - the story of Corrie ten Boom. Excellent & quick read. I started it this morning & I'll probably finish it by bedtime. Very good story.

I am hoping...
to get up to my Dad's house this week.

I am hearing...
the boys watching a video - "The Book of Virtues." They are telling the story of Daniel in the lion's den.

Around the house...
waiting for spring - trying to be patient. I started shoveling the large snow pile off my flower bed yesterday. Hopefully the rain did some more work on it. I'm praying for daffodils to bloom this year.

One of my favorite things...
sleeping in.....

A few plans for the rest of the week:
working on the boys Literature Fair projects, school work, MOPS, Bible study, AWANA, typical week.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

Oh thank goodness! I'm not here all alone. Thanks for leaving me a comment. It helps that I'm not always talking to myself. Right? Hello?
