Outside my window... darkness has fallen. The day is ending. I'll be off to bed soon. Morning comes too fast these days.
I am thinking...I live in a wonderful part of the world surrounding by really neat people.
I am thankful for...my FIL acting on a whim to fulfill a wish for the boys & I. He bought us six Barred Rock chickens today. We are very excited! Hubby, not so much, but I think he'll come around.
From the learning rooms...a hodge-podge of a day but we managed to cover math, writing, read aloud (we're working our way through Farmer Boy), and history.
From the kitchen...donut muffins. YUMMY!
I am wearing...crocs (not warm enough today), carpenter jeans, tank top, T-shirt, & sweatshirt. It is COLD here tonight!
I am creating...researching plans for a chicken tractor so hubby & I can start building it this weekend.
I am going...to hopefully finish getting my garden ready tomorrow. It's a banner year at the homestead. A new garden for me plus chickens! What's next??
I am reading...another Iris Johanson book, but I just finished reading the book the Duggar family wrote. I wrote a review of it here.
I am hoping...to finish getting my garden ready tomorrow so I can plant it this weekend. Then we can start on the chicken tractor.
I am hearing...the dryer working & a movie going on the TV.
Around the house...things are winding down for bedtime. I still have lots of things to do though. Getting in to a routine for the warmer days & new chores plus I seriously need to get going on the decluttering that HAS to be done.
One of my favorite things...baby chicks of course! I'll have photos tomorrow.
A few plans for the rest of the week:baseball games (I hope it's warmer than tonight was!), MOPS Wednesday AM, and not sure what else other than the typical. AWANA is over for the year until the fall.
Here is picture thought I am sharing...
Nate had a turn at playing catcher tonight. This is his favorite position to play. He did excellent when he was at bat. He hit a line drive at the coach (this league has coach-only pitching) & made it on base. He also made it on base later in the game & eventually made it home. He had a great game tonight.

It was cold here today for mid-May. Felt more like March. But I'll take that instead of heat.
