Bog Tour: You Were Born For This plus a Giveaway AND a Winner!

Bruce Wilkinson is the author of The Prayer of Jabez. His newest book is called You Were Born For This. I haven't read The Prayer of Jabez so I wasn't familiar with this author. However, I did enjoy his newest book. The basics of this book is this: Every day we have the opportunity to experience miracles big and small but that we don't realize they are miracles. He shares with us "7 Keys to a Life of Predictable Miracles" and how to live your life so that you encounter miracles daily.

He isn't talking about "giving sight to the blind" style miracles, but more simple but amazing miracles due to how simple they are. One example he shares near the beginning of the book is how he had some money to giveaway. It was specifically given to him to pass along to someone else in need. As he was eating in a restaurant that very night he tested the waiter by asking him if he believed it was more blessed to give them to receive. He would either give the waiter $100 as a gift (not a tip) or the waiter would buy the men (there were five) dessert - either way he was to chose. I'm not going to tell you how it ends, but it was truly an amazing thing.

I liked how there were many examples of ordinary miracles throughout the book. I highly recommend it.

Summary:

His New York Times phenomenon The Prayer of Jabez changed how millions pray. Now Bruce Wilkinson wants to change what they do next.

Anyone can do a good deed, but some good works can only happen by a direct intervention from God. Around the world these acts are called miracles—not that even religious people expect to see one any time soon. But what would happen if millions of ordinary people walked out each morning expecting God to deliver a miracle through them to a person in need? You Were Born for This starts with the dramatic premise that everyone at all times is in need of a miracle, and that God is ready to meet those needs supernaturally through ordinary people who are willing to learn how Heaven works.

In the straightforward, story-driven, highly motivating style for which he is known, Wilkinson describes how anyone can help others experience miracles in such universally significant arenas of life as finances, practical help, relationships, purpose, and spiritual growth.

You Were Born for This will change how readers see their world, and what they expect God can do through them to meet real needs. They will master seven simple tools of service, and come to say with confidence, “I want to deliver a supernatural gift from God to someone in need today—and now I know how!”

  1. This sounds like a great book. Another one by Bruce Wilkinson is The Dream Giver. I was very inspired by that book.

  2. Sign me up! And if I don't win, can I borrow your copy? : ) Hmm... everyday miracle... Well, recently I ran into two of my former high school students. They were both in college. Nobody thought they would go to college. I thank God for that!
