FOR TODAY
(
Monday, November 23, 2009)...

Outside my window...darkness has fallen. I really don't like the early sunset. It makes the nights seem that much longer and that's saying something coming from me since I am a professed night owl. Of course, it is only 6pm here & I think it's time for my kids to be in bed. Not the case though - they still have at least 1-1/2 to 2 hours before that time.

I am thinking...that I love the holidays but I'm still sad. I really miss my Mom. Last year at this time was her first hospital admission for what we thought was a minor heart issue. She spent Thanksgiving weekend in the hospital waiting to have an echocardiogram done on Monday. It's going to be a long holiday season but I am keeping Jesus in my site. With His help, I will make it through.

I am thankful for...my hubby being HOME! It was a long 11 days while he was at hunting camp.

From the learning rooms...we had an "unschooling" day today. The boys have listened to me read a book about the Pilgrims. They also spent time reading on their own. B13 is learning how to play the guitar (TOS Crew materials that arrived today) & N8 & J5 are messing around with the keyboard (another TOS review product). All the boys also spent about an hour outside working on a fort/clubhouse. They will be using a 26 year-old shed (formally used for a goat). They are having a great time.

From the kitchen...I made a double batch of banana bread/muffins yesterday. All the muffins are in the freezer - those will be for hubby's breakfast. I sent one loaf of bread to work with him & gave the other loaf to Miss H & Mr. H's mom. Today - nothing.

I am wearing...warm socks, jeans, warm sweatshirt...the mild temps of November are getting chiller.

I am creating...Christmas lists and checking them twice.

I am going...to enjoy the long holiday weekend.

I am reading...the first book in the Grace Chapel Inn series by Melody Carlson. I'm really enjoying this new author.

I am hoping...it works out for me to get together with my friend, Deb, from NY this weekend.

I am hearing...the TV going behind me.

Around the house...need to finish up getting the trailer ready for winter. We're taking things slow & laid back this week - just enjoying.

One of my favorite things...staying up late & sleeping late. Rarely happens though.

A few plans for the rest of the week: cleaning hubby's grandma's house on Wednesday this week - I skipped last weekend & will skip this coming weekend. I'm also going to try to get in some photo shoots for friends. Other than that - my week is open and free. Oh, I almost forgot - shopping on Friday with my sister & friend, Tammy. We are NOT doing the early morning craziness but we'll spend the day just having fun together.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

Miss H built this block tower "all by myself" last week.

Oh thank goodness! I'm not here all alone. Thanks for leaving me a comment. It helps that I'm not always talking to myself. Right? Hello?
