Random Dozen - 2/24

Be sure to head back over to 2nd Cup of Coffee to read more and to participate.

1. Have you ever fired a gun or shot a bow and arrow? Yes to both and I'm a pretty decent shot with a gun too.

2. Do you know where your childhood best friends are? Yup and thanks to Facebook we even keep in touch.

3. Do you usually arrive early, late, or on time? Depends on who is with me. If it's just me, I'll be early. If I have the kids in tow, I'm usually on time or a tad bit late. If hubby is with us, we are just getting there on time or are later than I like to be.

4. Are you more of a New York or California type? Neither. I'm a Maine girl through and through.

5. Do you have a special ring tone? Ring tone? That's for cell phones right? I use a Tracfone. 'Nuf said I think considering I can barely text with that thing.

6. What is your favorite type of chip? The local grocery store used to carry a BBQ ridge chip - their brand - that I loved. I haven't seen it in a while though. Plain ridged chips are probably a fave. I'm not a huge chip kind of person though.

7. Best comedy you've ever seen is ....Tough one...."Failure to Launch." THAT was an excellent comedy. I laughed so hard. Hubby wouldn't watch it with me but I convinced him he'd like it and so he watched it on his own the next night and I could hear him laughing.

8. Have you ever cut your own hair? To quote Dr. Phil, "How'd that work for ya?" I trim my bangs all the time. I don't cut length, but I cut my own bangs and then promptly feel guilty for doing it. I should probably tell you all that I only get my hair cut in a salon about 1-2 times a year. I hate spending the money for trims so I wait until I need a cut. Even now that I have shorter hair - that I'm growing out.

9. If you were going to have an extreme makeover, would you rather it be about your house or your personal self? Another tough one! However, considering I live in a trailer...unless they were going to actually build me a house - I'd have to go with the body. I don't like pain though.....

10. Are you allergic to anything? Cigarette smoke. Seriously.

11. Why is it so hard to change? I so wish I knew!

12. One last question dedicated to February love: CS Lewis said, "To love is to be vulnerable." Please share one example of that assertion or share any thought you'd like to about this topic. Deep. Very deep. When you love - especially when you love another person - you have to open up to them. You share with them. You talk with them. If you truly love them, they get to know you which makes it really hard to hide anything from them. To truly love a person, they know you so intimately that it's just impossible to not be transparent with them. However, all of that means you become vulnerable to that person. They know all your deepest and darkest secrets. They know your hot buttons. They know what makes you tick. But in all that knowing, in all that sharing, in all that intimacy, true love shines through. It is only with true vulnerability that true love reigns.

Oh thank goodness! I'm not here all alone. Thanks for leaving me a comment. It helps that I'm not always talking to myself. Right? Hello?
