Blog Tour: Raven's Ladder/Lady Carliss and the Waters of Moorue

The two newest books that arrived for me to read for the Blogging for Books blog tour are two fantasy type young adult books. Sadly, I did not have time to read both. I'll share info on the one I didn't get to read first. 

Raven’s Ladder:

Now, on to the one I did have a chance to read. I have heard of the author, Chuck Black, before. I've been eying his Kingdom Series now for a while thinking that my boys would like it. Based on Lady Carliss, I think I'm right.

I was hesitant to jump in and read it simply because it is book #4. However, the author did a really great job of adding enough detail to the beginning and throughout the story so that you weren't left wondering who was who and who had done what previously. Of course, now I just want to go buy the previous books and read those to see how the story started!

I absolutely loved this book. Chuck Black uses his storytelling skills well. I highly recommend it but I would probably start with Book #1.

Lady Carliss:

Determined, smart and a master of both the sword and the bow, Lady Carliss has proven herself as a veteran Knight of the Prince. Returning from a mission of aid, Carliss is plunged into adventure once again as she searches for the marauders responsible for kidnapping a friends’ family. Along the way she is reunited with Sir Dalton and discovers that the struggle in her heart is far from over. When Dalton falls to the vicious attack of a mysterious, poisonous creature, Carliss finds herself in a race against time. As Dalton clings perilously to life, she must find the antidote in the distant and strange city of Moorue.

Chuck Black, a former F-16 fighter pilot and tactical communications engineer, is the author of nine novels, including the popular Kingdom series.
