2010 Gratitude Challenge - November 2

I think it's pretty obvious what I am thankful for today given the photo below.....

I am so thankful to live in a country where I have the right to vote. I walked calmly into the polling place today with my two youngest in tow and exercised my civic duty. I didn't have to walk for miles. I wasn't publicly marked afterwards. Oh wait, I did willing wear an "I voted" sticker similar to the one above. However, I didn't have to worry about being shot or otherwise physically injured in order to make my voice heard. While I may not agree with the current views or our President, I am thankful I have the chance to share my opinion in this public manner and not worry about the consequences. We live in a wonderful country and I am extremely thankful.

  1. Well said. This country isn't perfect, but I'm grateful for the freedoms that we do hold.

  2. I still have my sticker on too :) It is our civic duty. If we don't....we sure can't complain about it now can we :)

    Have a great day tomorrow!

  4. It's definitely a blessing that we have a voice! I voted so late that I didn't bother to wear my sticker, but I got one! :)

Oh thank goodness! I'm not here all alone. Thanks for leaving me a comment. It helps that I'm not always talking to myself. Right? Hello?
