I've always been a bit late to catch on at times. I've been watching all the "partying" going on around the blogosphere but really didn't have much of a clue what the inside scoop entailed. I took some time today to find out what all the hoopla was about and decided to join in. So.....
WELCOME!
My name is Lisa and I have been holding down my little spot on the world wide web for about six years now. I love blogging, so much so that it has replaced scrapbooking, although I hope to get back to it at some point.
I am a homeschooling mom of three boys. My oldest is 14, my middle son turns 10 on Wednesday, and my youngest is 7. I've been homeschooling since my oldest was five years old. It's been a great eight years so far and I can't wait to see what the rest of my time here at home with them looks like.
I have been married 17-1/2 year to my college sweetheart. He treats me like a princess and is a wonderful support to me.
Seven years ago we moved "back home." As my blog header states, we live in a multi-generational setting with my hubby's parents and grandfather. This is the family property - Grandad was born here and lives in the house he was born and raised in. He's now 85 years old and does about 10 cord of wood a year - by himself - and splits it by hand! He's amazing. I love my in-laws so it makes it easier to live so close to them. They are wonderfully involved grandparents and I'm truly blessed by their involvement with the boys. You can take a peak at the About Me tab at the top of the page to see photos and read more about our move to rural Maine.
My blog is pretty eclectic - just like me. I blog about life here in Maine with my three boys. I also do some product reviews. I'm a member of the TOS Homeschool Crew so you'll see lots of homeschooling reviews on here. I'm on my second "tour of duty" and I'm currently waiting to see if I'll be asked back for a third year. You can see a link to all my reviews from Year 1 and Year 2 under the tabs way up at the top.
Alongside those reviews, I do a lot of book reviews. I love reading books so I really enjoy these types of reviews. I receive books through Blogging for Books and Book Sneeze both of which are good programs.
I also do sponsored posts through SocialSpark. I really enjoy these as it helps me earn some extra spending money. It's hard to find something to help out at home when you are a stay-at-home-homeschooling mom. This is a pretty easy and pain-free way of earning some extra money on my blog especially since I like to write.
Lastly, I do an occasional movie and CD review. In fact, I'll be posting about the new Rebecca St. James CD that is coming out soon.
Overall I have a great time on my blog. I like to blog about all kinds of things here. It truly is a reflection of me.
Make sure you head over to 5 Minutes for Mom to link up!
Stopping by via the Ultimate Blog Party. What an interesting life you lead! Three boys!!! Oh my. As a mom of one girl, that just frightens me. I love to read too so will have to check out those review sites. Nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa! I *think* the prize I won came in the mail (according to the description from my husband). The kids and I are visiting family on the coast. Just wanted to let you know! I'm excited to see what's in there - next week when we return!
ReplyDeleteJessy
I have three noisy active boys, too! Though mine are 6, 4, and 2.
