Have you been looking for a way to share the story of Christ's love at Easter with your children? See the Light has created a new DVD called "The Crossmaker."
Meet Dominic, the son of a carpenter, who finds himself drawn into the unforgettable trial of the man called Jesus. Share in this amazing adventure that takes Dominic from Christ's crucifixion to a place of redemption, and a face-to-face meeting with the risen Christ! You can see a trailer for the video below. It will also show clips from the extras included on the DVD.
The story of The Crossmaker ($14.99) is well told. The story unfolds with animated pictures drawn in chalk. This telling doesn't hold anything back from the true story of Christ's death and resurrection but it is also done amazingly well. All three of my boys (ages 7, 10, and 14) watched intently.
Included on the DVD are:
- The Crossmaker movie
- Chalk artist Gloria Kohlmann draws her interpretation of the Easter story (a MUST SEE!)
- Creative lettering lesson (28 mins)
- Chalk pastels lesson (32 mins)
- Water color lesson (25 mins)
- The story of salvation
The story is for ages 3 and up while the art lessons are for ages 6 and up.
The art lessons included are so fun and extremely well done. I sat and watched while my boys completed the illuminated lettering lesson and then wished I had joined in! It was broken down step by step and they did a great job. I will be doing this at a later date! The lessons typically don't require a lot of fancy materials. However, I'll be talking more about See The Light's art lessons later in the month.
This is a great company with a heart for Christ. I think this video is one many families will enjoy.
Be sure to check out See the Light's Facebook page as well as their YouTube channel. Both have more great information about this company.
