{My Blog Spark} General Mills & Star Wars (plus giveaway)

I'm the mom of three boys. I have no daughters. I married a man who loves Star Wars. I have to admit that I was familiar with it when I first met him but not a huge fan. That has changed in the ensuing three years along with the addition of each of our boys. Our youngest son is a huge fan of anything Star Wars and can tell you anything you need to know - honest. He's seven years old. (Disclaimer: He has only seen Episode 1, some of Episode 2, & Episodes 4-6. I think Episode 3 is too much for young children.)

It is because of that reason, I'm really looking forward to Christmas gifts this year. I have already planned out a family gift. It is the complete Star Wars movie series (Episodes 1-6) on Blu-Ray DVD. Needless to say, my guys are going to love it.

In honor of this occasion, General Mills has created some special cereal boxes. Check this out....
On the backs of three different cereal boxes, there is a panoramic poster that you can collect and put together. The cereal is a Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, and Honey Nut Cheerios. My boys were somewhat thrilled (I'm being a tad big factious here) when the box arrived and I opened it up. Unfortunately, my youngest is also allergic to wheat. He's also the biggest Star Wars fan so we opted to allow him to have the empty boxes (and the posters) while his brothers and dad devour the cereal. They have been having a great time doing that. As of this posting, (the boxes arrived last week) we only have half a box of Lucky Charms left. J7 can't wait for that to be gone so he can hang up his poster!

However, that wasn't my favorite part of the offer. Included in the box was a $25 gift card to Wal-Mart. I was more than happy to let the boys have the cereal - the gift card was mine! Living in small-town Maine means that Wal-Mart is usually it when it comes to shopping and I was soon headed there with a short list of things I needed to pick up.

My guys were okay with all that though - they got some tasty cereal (stuff that is considered a treat around here and not things I normally buy) and I got a bit extra spending money. Oh & don't forget - Star Wars was part of it as well so....may the force be with you!

Oh thank goodness! I'm not here all alone. Thanks for leaving me a comment. It helps that I'm not always talking to myself. Right? Hello?
