Tiny Talk Tuesday

I used to watch a brother and sister duo I call H&H. Miss H started coming to my house when she was only 13 months old and stayed until she was about 2-1/2. Than her mom was able to stay home. Her brother joined her here when he was about six weeks old and stayed until he was about 18 months old. Their mom is now a WAHM (work-at-home-mom) and on occasion she needs some babysitting so I get to play with her kids. They were both here on Monday so I planned out some fun school stuff to do with them. I'm a bit out of practice on toddler watching. Miss H is now 4 (as she reminded me often) and Mr. H is now 2-1/2 (more like 2-3/4). He is such a hoot! Here are two conversations we had that stand out to me.

He is just starting to potty train. After one visit to the potty I was helping him get dressed and....

H: "I want to run naked in this house."
Me: "You can't run naked in this house."
H: "Yeah, cause that would be silly!"
And then belly laughs!

Later on while doing school....

H: "After I color the crocodile, he'll be a nice crocodile."

(We were working on "A" pages - it was an alligator even though Mr. H insisted it was a crocodile.)

I had a great time having them here and can't wait for them to come back on Friday!

Tiny Talk Tuesday

I don't always think to join up on this weekly meme but I knew I had to record what J6 said this week. This week being Christmas week. On Christmas morning - after everything was said and done - he simply said this with much enthusiasm....

This is the best lifetime! ~J6

As I was struggling to translate this his wise nine-year-old brother piped up with....

You mean "time of your life." ~N9
Yeah, that's it! ~J6

I hope you all had a great "lifetime" over the weekend too.

Um, What???

I thoroughly enjoy reading the posts over at Tiny Talk Tuesday. This week I simply had to join up.

Let me preface this by saying J6 is a tad, well, melodramatic. He is something of a "drama king." It doesn't take much to set him off yelling and screaming (literally) about something. As a result, I don't run to his aid unless I can tell he's well and truly hurt - which isn't often.

Just the other morning J6 was in his room crying and carrying on. I made my way down to his room and asked my usual question, "What's the issue?"

J6 replies in his whiniest voice possible, "I can't find something!"

This isn't usual. He's constantly loosing things.

"Okay, well, what are you looking for?"

And he replies, still crying .....................

"I don't remember!"

Yeah, I can't make this stuff up if I tried.
