HSBA Swap Package

A few months ago I stumbled on something neat over at the The Homeschool Blog Post. It's a swap where they match you with another "sister" & you swap out gifts. The price limit is $5-$10 & creativity is encouraged (including sending on things you make, etc).

This is my second time participating & while it was a bit hectic around the holidays it was fun!

My package arrived in the mail on Monday & it was choke full of great stuff. This go round the nice gals at HSBA matched me with Lesley. We even found each other on Facebook so that has been fun.

Can you see all the neat things she sent me?

  • some super cute snowman post-its
  • a really cute pen
  • an adorable memo book (love all those swirlies!)
  • a really fantastic photo frame. It has a clear border that says "memories" on it.
  • a great kitchen towel & pot holder set
  • a very yummy smelling candle
  • some great books - LOVE books!
  • and her sweet daughter even including a drawing & note for me!!!

Thanks so much, Lesley!!! I love everything you sent.

It's Here!!

I decided to try out The Something Special Swap hosted by The Homeschool Post. I'm actually something of a swap veteran & I have done various ones over the years. When I was just starting to find my way around a Yahoo group I was introduced to scrapbooking swaps. These took on various forms from making little "make & take" items to swapping various things like ribbon. I did a lot of them for a few years until I realized I was only doing swaps & I had no time for scrapbooking! Those started to go by the wayside.

I've also done gift swaps & ornament swaps & a number of other types of swaps. They are super fun. Seriously, who wouldn't want to get a surprise gift in the mail? Honestly now...

So I signed up.

The rules were simple. Sign up. Get matched up. Mail a gift worth between $5-$10. Post a photo. Done! Well, there were some pesky deadlines attached to all that but it was still super simple! ;-)

So today my package arrived! Woo-Hoo! Did I mention how cool it is to get surprise gifts in the mail??

I was matched up with Jennifer from Believing His Promises. I loved what she sent me. Seriously! Thanks, Jennifer! There was a cute little candle apple topper in there. It should fit on my pumpkin candle that I'm currently burning. I love that candle. Then there were three nice pencils. You know, the kind you'd hide from the kiddos. ;-) After all, as Jennifer said in her card, a homeschool mom can never have enough of those or the little post-its. I love little post-its. They work for marking many neat things. Then the photo marker which I really do not have! I can't wait to try that out.

Thanks, Jennifer!
