A not-often-seen photo of my dear hubby. In fact this was one I stole off his hard drive & cropped down just to show him.
On July 17, 1993 I married my best friend. Today we celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary. One of the challenges we had earlier in the year was to post the story of your wedding. If you missed my original post, click here to go read about wedding. In my previous post I mentioned how my sister & her hubby came up & got our three boys. They kept them overnight on Monday & told us to enjoy Tuesday. We took them up on that. My hubby played in a golf tournament on Monday with members of his company. The golf course was only about 45 minutes away so that meant he was home much earlier than normal. In fact, he arrived about 10 minutes after the boys left with my sister & her hubby. One might call that perfect timing.
We started our time together by going to the movies on Monday night. We went & saw the new Harry Potter movie. No where close to being like the book, but quite enjoyable all the same. At least I thought so. We went to the 6:30 show so we were home pretty early - around 9:00. We watched another movie at home while we ate even more snacks & went to bed late knowing full well we could sleep as long as we wanted in the morning.
The morning was awesome. I will confess right now to sleeping until the unheard of hour of 9:30 in the morning!!!! I stayed in bed until the dog woke me up to go outside. That was around 6:00 I think. I find that if I stay in our bed too long my back hurts, so I moved out to our VERY comfy couch in the living room. It was wonderful!
After finally getting up & getting around, my hubby & I headed out for a walk on the property. Sometime in the next 2-3 years will we be getting ready to build a house here. We walked around & he showed me some of the choices we have for where to build. I think I know which was my favorite - high on top of a hill with a view of the lake - in the winter at least. Right now we couldn't actually SEE the lake, but we know it's there.
After that we came back & headed in to town for lunch. Hubby's choice is always Chinese so that's where we went. We ordered WAY too much food but it was really yummy & we now have leftovers for about the next week.
This was a pretty late lunch so we headed down towards where my sister lives. On the way we decided to see another movie. Totally decadent for us! We saw the newest Die Hard movie (Live Free or Die Hard) & it was pretty good - if you like Die Hard movies. It was full of action & had that guy from the Apple computer commercials in it but I didn't place him until after when hubby & I were talking. ::grin:: I just knew I had seen some somewhere - but couldn't place where!
At this point it was getting late. It was around 6:30 & it would take us at least an hour to get home so we headed over to my sister's house to get the boys. They were all pretty happy to see us I think. It was a wonderful time for hubby & I to connect & I'm thankful to my sister for being willing to watch my boys for us so we could do it.
Happy Anniversary, Lisa and Bob!
