My Daybook

FOR TODAY (December 22, 2008)...

Outside my window...
it's growing dark. Thankfully we'll start gaining sunlight from this point on. It's a snow covered day with blowing & blustery winds adding to the drifts.

I am thinking...
that I really should be in the kitchen making more goodies rather than sitting here blogging.

I am thankful for...
my family - extended and immediate - those visiting and far away.

From the learning rooms...(if this applies)
we're on Christmas break.

From the kitchen...
I have plans for making chocolate covered pretzel sticks, plain chocolates and almond joy bars.

I am wearing...
socks, winter crocs, old faded but comfy jeans, t-shirt, & fleece sweatshirt. Warm & toasty.

I am creating...
Christmas gifts and Christmas goodies.

I am going...
to enjoy the holiday season.

I am reading...
Thorn in My Heart by Liz Curtis Higgs - it's a retelling of the Jacob/Esau story set in 1770's Scotland.

I am hoping...
that Christmas can be nice & relaxing.

I am hearing...
my FIL outside on the tractor moving back the snowbanks, Boz on TV while the little boys watch the Christmas video, & the fan blowing the warm air from the wood stove around the trailer.

Around the house...
things are looking very festive but messy. I'm working on getting the messy party cleaned up.

One of my favorite things...
is the Christmas season. I love it all. I just wish it lasted longer. It never seems quite long enough & it's over so fast.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
finish up making holiday goodies and spend Wednesday afternoon making some deliveries. This is new for me this year. I don't generally do this but I think it will be a lot of fun. Obviously Christmas on Thursday. It will be fun. Friday we'll be spending the day doing it all over again at my parents house. Relaxing on Saturday - hopefully!

Here is picture thought I am sharing...(add your picture here

This is the barn on the property here. I finally found out why those boards are missing from the front. During the years when no one lived here, hunters came here & broke out the boards & used it as a deer stand. Hopefully we'll be able to fix it soon but it's still relatively stable. The bottom has bays in it where all the winter wood is stored.

Oh thank goodness! I'm not here all alone. Thanks for leaving me a comment. It helps that I'm not always talking to myself. Right? Hello?
