My New Glasses

I shared on Facebook a few weeks ago that I had ordered new glasses from Zenni Optical. If you wear glasses, you really should check them out. I bought three pairs. The total cost with shipping was just under $34. I only paid $8 a pair for two of them. The sunglasses were about $13. Flat rate shipping of $4.95 no matter how many you order. They finally arrived today.

I did find the website a bit awkward. It took me a bit to figure out exactly how to order & what to order. I also prayed I read the doctor's handwriting correctly. ;-) I do plan to take them to Wal-Mart or another eye place to have them double check the prescription.

So here are what the look like (forgive the photos - I had B take them & I just wanted my eyes & the glasses to show....)

I bought these to wear every day. The frames are silver & the stems are black. (Yes, I know they are crooked. I think my ears are lopsided. I have this problem all the time. LOL)

My sunglasses. I love these. The frames are purple!!! I do wish I had bought slightly bigger lenses just to cover my eyes better but these definitely work. I tried them out today.

And these were just for fun. I'm not sure how I feel about them. They are acrylic frames. It's very much a different style than I would normally buy. I bought the blue to make my eyes stand out a bit more. We'll see.

Overall I have to say I'm happy with them. They came from Hong Kong so I'm assuming that's how they keep the costs down. I did a bunch of forum reading before I ordered these. I would have to say 90-95% of the folks who ordered through them were happy. I fall in to that category.

It's taken me a bit of time to get used to them today. They are a different style than my old ones & my prescription was tweaked a bit by my doctor. I know new glasses take some time. I've been wearing my silver framed ones a lot today & at this point I don't feel like the walls are tilting in at me. LOL

I found this to be a frugal way for me to get new glasses. I would definitely buy from them again.

  1. Thanks for the link! I'm about to get my son glasses for the first time next week. I'll get them from the doc this time but will certainly have to order them again--knowing how teenagers are!

  2. The blue ones really do make your blue eyes pop! They look nice on you (at least on your eyes since we couldn't see any more).

  3. I love my Zenni glasses...the only thing, as you've noted, is that they don't get "adjusted" for your face. Like you, my ears aren't "level" so my glasses are tilted. I can fix the wire framed one easily enough, but the acrylic frames need to be superheated (they use hot sand at the optometrists' office) to make the adjustments.

I think the blue glasses are TRES cute on you! And like you, I got the tinting on a frame as well...it's so nice to have a prescription sunglass pair instead of having to get clipon or suffer with the sun.

I keep a pair of the Zenni's in my glovebox (regular pair) in case I forget to put my glasses on (which I do quite regularly!). All in all, they can't be beat. I'm planning on ordering a few more pairs after I get my newest eye exam. They didn't mess my prescription up last time...I'm going on faith!

  9. We use Zenni Optical too! I love your blue glasses; I'll have to look for this pair for myself. I need a new pair. I got my son a pair for something like $8.00!! He doesn't need to wear them all the time, so this was awesome.

  10. I finally got word that Tristan's pair from them has shipped so hopefully we will be happy with them too. I only ordered one pair from them to see how we like it. If it goes well I'll order him a couple ore pairs for summer and camp. Thinking super cheap pairs would be good for cub scout camp, something is bound to happen!

Oh thank goodness! I'm not here all alone. Thanks for leaving me a comment. It helps that I'm not always talking to myself. Right? Hello?
