My Daybook

FOR TODAY (May 11, 2009)...

Outside my window...the sun is shining!  It's been at least five days since we've seen the sun. We've had lots and lots of rain around here.

I am thinking...I had a rather productive day, but I still didn't get done as much as I had hoped.

I am thankful for...that J still just has strep & nothing else. I just pray he continues to feel better.

From the learning rooms...a short day of learning. J wasn't feeling good at all this morning & school was just too much on top of a hurting child. But the boys new math books arrived today. I'm happier about that than they are. 

From the kitchen...nothing today. Not sure what I'll be making this week. Between baseball & softball, we only have two nights home this week before Saturday comes.

I am wearing...crocs, comfy jeans, hubby's white t-shirt & a sweatshirt. It's cold here today!

I am creating...blog posts. ;-)

I am going...to bed early tonight! Miss H is rejoining us tomorrow for a few weeks. Mom needs to drop her off early (6:30am) & I want to be sure to get in my exercise & shower before the craziness begins. It should be interesting to have Miss H & Miss L together again.

I am reading...another Iris Johanson book, Stalemate. Interesting so far.

I am hoping...I can get in to a good routine with all the kids here. I still need to finish school & I may start working more with J & not wait for the fall to start K work.

I am hearing...a Boz movie playing. The boys playing with the Duplos I hauled out of storage after more than a year. 

Around the house...major decluttering needs to happen. My dad is having a yard sale at his house in two weeks & I need to have stuff pulled together for that. I also need to go through all my homeschooling books & regular books & get them ready for the used curriculum sale coming up.

One of my favorite things...afternoon naps. I got to doze some this afternoon. Heavenly.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Baseball game, AWANA, field trip - it feels like a busy week but it's actually not as bad as it normally is. This is our last AWANA night for the summer. It will be super busy for me though as I get all the kids awards ready (Cubbies & Sparks) plus make sure we have the right book awards ready for the closing ceremony on Sunday night.

Miss L is so happy to please. She is playing with an egg carton & milk tops. I've been saving milk tops for quite a while. They come in pretty handy as manipulatives for the toddlers. She filled the carton, opened it, closed it, & had a great time for about 20 minutes or so.
