My Daybook

FOR TODAY (Memorial Day, May 25, 2009)...

Outside my window...darkness has fallen. It was a busy day, a busy weekend, but lots of things accomplished.

I am thinking...that I still have a lot left to do this week.

I am thankful for...my hubby who is building a chicken tractor for our new chicks. It's great having such a handy man for a hubby.

From the learning rooms...we'll continue to make our progress towards the end of the year.

From the kitchen...need to make some treats for snacking this week. B wants to make brownies tomorrow. Not sure what else. I have a craving for chocolate chip cookies so those may get made up this week...or not.

I am wearing...my gardening clothes...old comfy jeans, t-shirt, sweatshirt, crocs....it was cold today!

I am creating...Secret Sister reveal for our MOPS group is Wednesday. I will be putting together something for that. I'm thinking of some sort of scrapbook/photo album.

I am going...to enjoy the life we are living. Today it hit me how nice it is to leave where we do & the way we do. I am content.

I am reading...I have finished all books in the house on my Spring Reading Thing 2009 list. I need to go request some more from the library.

I am hoping...to finish planting my garden tomorrow. We are getting a hard frost tonight but one would think those days are fading fast.

I am hearing...a movie playing on the TV, the dryer tumbling clean towels for morning showers, and hubby in his shop area puttering.

Around the house...lots were accomplished this long weekend...finished getting the garden ready for planting,  planted half of it, put up a string fence to keep the dogs out (and hopefully the deer). Hubby has the chicken tractor about halfway built (photos later when it's completed). Hmmm, it felt like a lot more than two sentences worth of things done this weekend.

One of my favorite things...laundry drying on the clothesline. It was a beautiful day today & I dried two loads.

A few plans for the rest of the week: two baseball games, my niece's graduation, a friend's son getting married, and the month of May ending...summer is going by far too fast.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

One of the tulips growing in my flower garden. They are new this year & so very pretty.

  2. Your chicken tractor will be interested to see. We built one 3 years ago and it was a bit too heavy to move around. We plan to build a much lighter one sometime soon.
I enjoyed reading your daybook. :)

Oh thank goodness! I'm not here all alone. Thanks for leaving me a comment. It helps that I'm not always talking to myself. Right? Hello?
