FOR TODAY
(December 7, 2009)...

Outside my window...
night has fallen. What a busy but fun day!

I am thinking...
the this Christmas season is going by too fast! I want to just slow things down & really enjoy. But I say that every year. I so love Christmas.

I am thankful for...
my wonderful hubby.

From the learning rooms...
"Christmas school" but we didn't have much time for it today. You can click here to see what I have planned for this.

From the kitchen...
planning and gearing up for the great Christmas baking of 2009. Well, okay, it's not that elaborate. Last year I put together baked gifts for extended family & friends. I'll be doing chocolate covered pretzel sticks, reindeer bites, various baked breads, and other easy to make goodies.

I am wearing...
(head to toe) - my long-sleeved Tour de Cure black t-shirt (a fave), layering camisole, jeans, socks with my new winter Crocs. Doesn't that scream comfy?

I am creating...
Christmas goodies. I do have one more idea for a homemade gift but I can't say what it is since the recipient reads my blog. Ha! That has a lot of you thinking right now doesn't it?!?! ;-)

I am going...
to really enjoy the season - remember why we celebrate Christmas. Enjoy my family. Really try not to let the stress get to me. Just enjoy.

I am reading...
nothing & it's killing me! I always have a book or two sitting around waiting to be read. Well, let me clarify. I do have plenty of books laying around & they are all well-loved favorites, but nothing I want to really start reading right now. I posted a plea on Facebook and the ideas and titles and authors started coming in. I just requested three from the library. But I live out in the boonies without a library system so I use the "Books By Mail" system. It's a nice system (basically state-wide interlibrary loan for free - including shipping to me but I have to either pay to return them or beg my sister to go to the library itself to do it. Thankfully she loves me enough to do that for me or my BIL does - either works.) but it's not instant gratification that's for sure! Hopefully the books will be here by the end of the week but we'll see....

I am hoping...
we continue to stay on track to paying off our debt by next year so we can start building our house. Although, we just got the bill for N8's surgery in the mail today. ::gulp!!!::

I am hearing...
Celtic Women singing via YouTube through my computer and the dryer tumbling. The washer is going too. Being gone over the weekend and most of the day today backed up the "magic" laundry system significantly. I'll be playing catch-up on that all week.

Around the house...
still no visible signs of Christmas but that will all be changing this weekend.

One of my favorite things...
Christmas songs. I'll be changing out my favorites at the top of the site throughout Christmas.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
a busy week. Today we went to the doctor so that N8 could have a follow up visit for his surgery. He's been given a clean bill of health. I took photos of some adorable twin girls today & will be working on editing those for their mom so she can get them ready for Christmas cards. AWANA on Thursday. That's almost my last day with Miss H & Mr H until spring (their Dad works construction & has winter's off). We'll be doing a small Christmas party that day for the two of them. Friday night we're home so we'll do pizza and have my in-laws over. Saturday & Sunday will be "Christmas-central" - at least that's the plan!

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...
Miss H in her winter coat. Really I have no other words. Simply adorable.

Oh thank goodness! I'm not here all alone. Thanks for leaving me a comment. It helps that I'm not always talking to myself. Right? Hello?
