My Daybook

Join us HERE for more peeks into others daybook entries.

Outside my window...a wonderfully sunny winter day. It's a bit breezy and cold but somehow the sun makes up for it.

I am thinking...I really have fun "couponing." I won't need to make a regular grocery store run this week. I almost skipped it all together but Shaw's had a good deal that I couldn't pass up. I stocked up on spaghetti sauce, chicken nuggets, and cinnamon rolls. I plan to blog about how this all works soon or at least how it all works for me - more than just photos and savings.

I am thankful for... our chickens laying all those great eggs. They are now officially earning their keep.

I am wearing...my typical winter wardrobe. Fuzzy socks with winter Crocs, really comfy jeans, a layering T-shirt, and an old comfy sweater.

I am remembering...that God never promised that life would be easy. If it were easy here on earth, we'd never make a decision to follow Him. So I praise Him when things are hard just as I praise Him when things are easy.

I am going... to keep re-evaluating schedules and tweaking as needed.

I am currently reading...the Bible (90-Day challenge is ongoing), my Prentiss Bible study, and as of today I'll be adding in a novel since I'm now caught up on my Bible reading!

I am hoping... there are no major snowstorms coming our way any time soon. This is called denial or perhaps blissful ignorance since I haven't seen a weather forecast in a couple of days.

On my mind... wondering if I will survive the afternoon watching my boys and my nephew. Sometimes they get along great and sometimes......

Noticing that...having a daily Bible reading time every day makes my day go by easier.

Pondering these words... "If I required a little self-denial, I said cheerfully, 'This is hard, but doing it for our best Friend sweetens it' and their alacrity was pleasant to see." -taken from Stepping Heavenward by Elizabeth Prentiss. This is Katy - the main character - speaking of training her children.

From the kitchen... I need to do some freezer cooking. Hubby needs muffins for breakfast. I'm contemplating making some freezer meals as well.

Around the house... decluttering. Books need to be sorted and purged. Toys and clothes as well. Working to tidy and straighten everything.

One of my favorite things~ shopping for groceries and knowing that I am saving my family money. I never ever thought I'd say that grocery shopping is fun but it's starting to be that way - lots of fun!

From my picture journal...

We spent Saturday at the AWANA Grand Prix. Here are the cars the boys entered.

Oh thank goodness! I'm not here all alone. Thanks for leaving me a comment. It helps that I'm not always talking to myself. Right? Hello?
