2010 Gratitude Challenge - November 5

Today I'm thankful for this child............

This is my second born. Up until a few months ago he was completely and totally in love with trains. He has loved trains since he was about three years old. He read train encyclopedias for fun. However, now he's discovered planes. He spends hours each day crafting paper airplanes from paper patterns. He just told me today he wants to go in the Air Force so he can become a fighter pilot. I asked him to please stick with becoming a train engineer. He asked me why. I told him no one shoots at trains! He just smiled.

  1. Wow, he's cute! He sounds a lot like my boys at that age. I'd laugh sometimes when we were reading together out of encyclopedias.
My brother was a military pilot. It does make for some sleepless nights. Now he flies commercial planes. I'm still saying prayers, but it's a little easier on the nerves.

  2. What a cutie! Yeah, I have to agree I would like trains better than Air Force jets, much safer on the ground. Hopefully, he'll change his mind again.

  5. Ooh planes... Check out the virtual tour here - http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/ We love this place. It's one of our favorite hs day locations ever! (So much so that we typically attend it in fall and spring each year!)

Oh thank goodness! I'm not here all alone. Thanks for leaving me a comment. It helps that I'm not always talking to myself. Right? Hello?
