Living in central Maine definitely has some draw-backs, although, I really wouldn't have it any other way no matter how much I complain about the weather. We are at the tail end of winter here and spring is just around the corner. The birds are starting to come back and sing their sweet songs in the morning (not that I'm ever awake to hear them) and the days (sheer bliss!) are getting longer!
When the days begin to grow longer and the temps start to rise, I start to think about some of the fun things to do outside. There is a nice window of opportunity here in Maine that begins at the end of "mud season" and goes until the bugs start to arrive. It's a very small window but during that time is when I want to be outside a lot.
Pier 1 has some great outdoor furniture and some of it is really catching my eye. I loved the look of their Papasan chairs. I had one when we were first married and loved it. Then my dog decided it was all her's and that was the end of it.
I love the look of this double Papasan chair. While it would work great outside on my screened in porch, I would love this in my living room! I can just picture curling up with a good book and a nice cozy blanket on a rainy day. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........
I also love this red metal beverage tub, although, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't use it for drinks. I would use it to hold reading materials next to my Papasan chair or perhaps even a pretty planet. However, most vegetation doesn't survive long around me, so I think I'd have to go with books. No chance of my killing them.
Oh I can just picture this chair near my flower garden....
with a planter on it full of blooms. The ideas are just flowing right now while I'm browsing Pier 1!
Like me, Pier 1 is excited that spring is just around the corner. Head over to sign up for the Pier 1 Outdoor newsletter and you'll be the first to hear about their special in-store offer coming this weekend - just in time for March 20th - the first day of spring!
Do you love Twitter? Then you'll want to join the Pier 1 Tweetups coming soon! There will be one for Dallas on March 22nd, Atlanta is April 5th and NYC is April 20th. You can find more areas by clicking on the above link.
Now I'm off to go soak up some much needed Vitamin D. We had snow here in Maine yesterday but today? Today it's going to be almost 50 degrees! I can't wait.
