Fun Field Trip!

Last week the boys & I spent two whole days exploring Plymouth, MA. Our stops included Plimouth Plantation, Plymouth Rock, the Forefathers Monument, Pilgrim Hall Museum, the Mayflower II, and Burial Hill. Phew! It was tiring but a lot of fun.

Since it was school related, I blogged about it over on my school blog. You can read about our visit to Plimouth Plantation here. Just fair warning....the post is long and full of photos! I took pity and broke up the next day into four separate posts. You can read about our visit to the Forefather's Monument here, the Pilgrim Hall Museum here, our visit to the Mayflower II here, and finally our walk through Burial Hill here. Over the course of our four days away (travel days) I took over 400 photos.

We spent the weekend at a local campground and had quite the experience. I'm not exactly a "camping" kind of girl, but I have boys. Thankfully this campground had cabins for rent. I stayed in one of those with my oldest and my two youngest bunked with my sister and nephew in a rented RV. Of course, no camping trip would be complete without s'mores made over a campfire!

YUMMY!

This has been one of my favorite field trips thus far that we have taken.

  1. What fun! This looks very similar to the Jamestown exhibits in our area. I'll keep this in mind when we come up to N.H. to visit my husband's family.

  2. We LOVE Plimouth! We haven't gone in years, but the kids love to spend the day there, pretending to be Pilgrims. We also go on the Mayflower II and see Plymouth Rock...and stay an John Carver Inn (that has an indoor waterslide). Fun!

Oh thank goodness! I'm not here all alone. Thanks for leaving me a comment. It helps that I'm not always talking to myself. Right? Hello?
