{Review & Giveaway} GSN: The American Bible Challenge

It's no secret that finding something worthwhile to watch on TV these days is hard. In fact, about three years ago now we let go all of our "broadcast" TV and only watch what we pick and choose via streaming sites and online areas. It cuts down on so much out there that we don't want our kids watching or, for that matter, the adults around here either!

That's one reason I was happy to help the Game Show Network promote their newest TV show - The American Bible Challenge. As you can tell, the premiere of the show was last Thursday and tonight the second episode was shown. However, if, like me, you don't have access to regular TV or cable TV or even satellite TV, but you have an internet connection, you can check out the premier episode online and I'm betting the second episode will be available tomorrow there as well.

The premise of the show is simple...win money for your favorite charity by competing against two other teams and answering questions about the Bible. Seems simple enough. One of my favorite comedians, Jeff Foxworthy of the "You Might Be a Redneck If...." fame, is the host and brings his fantastic sense of humor to the stage.

A different twist on the regular game show premise is that the back stories of the contestants are always shared beyond the "what do you do for a living" type questions. As Mr. Foxworthy shares....it's the head knowledge but also the heart of the contestants that makes the show interesting.

A lot of thought went in to making this show and I pray that it does as well as they hope. I plan to watch the episodes via the Game Show Network website the day after they view. I think I'm going to have fun challenging myself with the questions! And most likely seeing just how much I don't know about the Bible!

  4. Maybe this sounds a bit cliche, but I love the 23rd Psalm...I can't make it through it without crying...not tears of sadness, but tears of thanksgiving. My favorite verse from it is 'Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.'

Oh thank goodness! I'm not here all alone. Thanks for leaving me a comment. It helps that I'm not always talking to myself. Right? Hello?
