{Review} This is Our Time

This Is Our Time - DVD

Recently I had the chance to view this movie, This Is Our Time. There were a couple of things that made me want to check out this movie. The first was the actress who plays one of the main characters, Ale. She has been in two of my favorite Provident films, Facing the Giants and the was the lead female actress in Fireproof. The other reason I had for viewing this film was the content.

How many times do we feel we know exactly what it is God has in store for us? And then the course of what we have chosen is changed. We don't know why it happened or what the ultimate outcome will be, but God does.

This is Our Time follows five college friends. All of them are sure they have their lives figured out and are doing exactly what God has planned for them once they graduate and go out in the world. Or so they think.

From the website:
Ethan, Luke, AlĂ©, Ryder and Catherine are five friends connected by their strong faith. After graduation, they each set out to make a difference in the world for God. Their ambitions are high, their passions are strong but will they have the courage to fulfill their calling regardless of what comes their way. The sacrifice they are asked to pay may just be too high. Through godly wisdom from an outside source, the group realizes that this is not their time after all, it’s all His!

And yes, this is a tear-jerker so be prepared with a few tissues. I started watching it on a quiet afternoon here at home and soon my younger boys arrived and finished watching it with me. It's family friendly and can spark some conversation about how one determines what to do.

I feel they do a good job of showing how God has the ultimate plan for your life. It may not always turn out the way you may want it to, but it will always be beneficial. And sometimes we may not even see those benefits this side of heaven.

I very much enjoyed the fact that the mission that Luke & Ale work for, Embrace a Village, is a real mission. This movie helps show what this mission is all about. You can see the connection between the movie and the mission is the video below.

Oh thank goodness! I'm not here all alone. Thanks for leaving me a comment. It helps that I'm not always talking to myself. Right? Hello?
