My Daybook

FOR TODAY (January 26, 2009)...

Outside my window...it is a bright, sunny winter day - even though it's still very cold out.

I am thinking...that I need to get some chores done instead of spending time checking out all the great blog giveaways that are up for the Great Bloggy Giveaways.

I am thankful for...that I am healthy.

From the learning rooms...we had the day off today due to errands this morning & naps this afternoon. We'll play catch up the rest of the week.

From the kitchen...there should be bread baking (oatmeal & banana) but right now there is just a mess. Oh, but there is a very delicious smelling roast cooking in the crock-pot for dinner tonight.

I am wearing...bright warm fuzzy socks with my winter crocs on my feet. My very comfy blue jeans, a white t-shirt, a purple sweatshirt, and my super-comfy-in-the-house-only-over-sized cardigan - all in an effort to stay warm!

I am creating...nothing at the moment, but I need to get some things done. Isn't that always the case?

I am going...crazy - slowly - a bit at a time. ;-)

I am reading...I'm in between book series right now so I'll have to tackle some of the non-fiction on my list. I'm not a big non-fiction fan.

I am hoping...that it warms up here soon. I'm tired of subzero weather.

I am hearing...nothing - peace & quiet. It's blissful. The toddler is sleeping, the big boy is in his room reading or playing on his DS, and the two little boys are in their room playing with their trains. Ahhhh....

Around the house...I need to get my pantry area cleaned out & organized. I've been reading up on "couponing" & I'm very intrigued but I have no good places to stash goods yet so that needs to be my first step.

One of my favorite things...crawling in to bed on a cold night & snuggling down in to the flannel sheets, warming up slowly in my own little cocoon of warmth. I'd so love to be there right now.

A few plans for the rest of the week:I went to see the eye doctor for my annual exam this am. I seriously ticked him off when I asked for a rx that would allow me to order my glasses on -line - seriously - it wasn't pretty. I'm probably going to order from Zenni Optical. Tonight I start my weight loss class at the hospital. Here's to less weight in the next eight weeks! Tomorrow is a nice day at home. Wednesday is our busy day. We'll be out in the morning for MOPS & then I have to stay after for a Steering Team Meeting - hopefully it won't go too long as I'll have Miss L with us & she needs her nap time. Then off to Bible study on Wednesday evening - it's our potluck night though so that should be fun. What to make?? Thursday is a nice day at home. We just have AWANA at night & then Friday brings us homeschool gym time at the church. We've had a low turnout so far but hopefully it will pick up a bit. The boys & I have had fun anyway.

Here is picture thought I am sharing..

N was given this kit by Miss L's mom. He was dying to put it together so he painted all the pieces before we left this morning for our errands. Then he glued them together after lunch. He is so going to be like his father when he grows up. I'd be very surprised if he didn't become an engineer of some sort. He always wants to know how things work & he's great at putting this together. Just click HERE to see what he's also made from a Christmas gift.

  3. Busy week! Our eye doctor/optical shop was actually ok about me ordering a pair of glasses for Tristan elsewhere. I was surprised that they didn't fuss about it. Of course I'd already bought a pair from them AND paid for replacement lenses after the puppy chewed them. I guess they figured they'd gotten enough from me already. LOL

I havent tried zenni optical yet but that is where I plan to get Tristan's spare pair from soon.

Oh thank goodness! I'm not here all alone. Thanks for leaving me a comment. It helps that I'm not always talking to myself. Right? Hello?
