Weekly Wrap-Up: The Short Week

This week we only managed three days of schooling. Thursday we were having company come for dinner - something I'm trying to do more of. I told the boys they could have the day off if they helped me clean. They jumped at the chance. It's nice to have a cleaner home.

Friday we had a major snowstorm. I had thought it was going to hit earlier so I didn't get the boys checklists ready. I planned to spend time doing "together" school. However, since it didn't start snowing until about 10am, I still managed to sneak in my weight loss class in the morning. Then I decided not to make the kids do school in the afternoon. I'm nice like that at times.

The first three days of the week (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) were just routine. Although, I have begun thinking about next year. Don't most homeschoolers at this time of year?

I've been really happy with some of the TOS Crew Review products we've been given this year and will most likely incorporate some of those in to next year. I'm also looking at revamping B14's entire program to include more DVD curriculum. I think it will help him learn better. We'll see. I need to make a list and then do more research. I love this time of year for that very reason.

If you'd like to see what other homeschoolers have been up to this past week, make sure to head over to Weird, Unsocialized Homeschoolers.

  1. Sometimes you have to give them a break and just enjoy what's going on. We visited family this week and didn't do a lick of school work! LOL Well, unless you count 100s of pages of free reading, historical specials on the History Channel, bowling, and taking care of a 2-year-old.

And I'm almost done planning for next year. LOL I have to order Math for the boys though. I'm simplifying next year!

  2. Well your week sounds like my week. 3 days were are we could manage this week, too.

I am just trying to finish this year first. Since we had to change some of our curriculum for Ricky this week, I hope we finish by the end of the summer. Not complaining because it is for the best. Guess I will not start planning next year until the summer.

Oh thank goodness! I'm not here all alone. Thanks for leaving me a comment. It helps that I'm not always talking to myself. Right? Hello?
